The Louisiana Bucket Brigade works with the Lower Ninth Ward’s Center for Sustainable Engagement to promote green building projects within the Lower Nine. That is the goal. Our staff member Pam Dashiell facilitates resident engagement on projects with big institutions like Global Green, Make it Right and the Episcopal Church. We also help individual homeowners to use green materials in their rebuilding. The Center, where Pam is based, is located in the Ninth Ward of New Orleans. Residents can easily walk a few blocks to get the information they need. Mrs. Pittman recently came by to ask how she could get solar panels. While she was there she admired the home across the street from the center, recently painted with non toxic paint (lime green!).
