(Norco, La.) In a bold move to intensify the pressure on Shell, the Concerned Citizens of Norco are today sending their president, Margie Richard, to Shell's international headquarters in Holland to make the case for relocation.
(New Sarpy, November 3) Orion refinery officials yesterday barred the community's technical expert from a meeting in which Orion presented the results of its air samples. Four Orion experts were present at the meeting at company headquarters.
(Norco, La. September 26, 2000) An air sample taken by the Bucket Brigade in the Diamond Neighborhood in Norco showed extremely high levels of a toxic chemical previously identified during a controversial incident on December 8, 1998.
On Saturday, September 9th, members of Norco’s Diamond community will build more of the buckets that have enabled the residents to sample their air. The Bucket Brigade, as it is called, has been sampling the air in Norco since December of 1998.
(New Sarpy, August 30, 2000) After a year and a half of postponements and cancellations, the Concerned Citizens of New Sarpy and Orion President and CEO Clark Johnson are scheduled to meet at 10 AM on Wednesday, August 30th. On the citizens’ agenda is relocation for the community.
(July 25, 2000) After promising in March to return to the Diamond community in 60 days with offers based on commercial property value, Shell Motiva managers Jim Kimes and Allen Kirkley have let the deadline come and go with no offer.
